This kind of ending to a story really makes me sick. Annie Le’s body was found stuffed into a wall of an industrial part of the building where she worked. Some sick criminal took away more than her bright future. He took away young women’s feeling of security at Universities all over America. It isn’t bad enough that we have to worry about some deranged psychopath coming on campus and shooting people he doesn’t even know. Now we have a serial rapist and murderer running around the Yale University Medical complex.

I advocate public hangings.

What do we do in America with people like the murderer when they are caught? We lock them up most of the time. And regardless of where you stand on the death penalty, I can’t think of a stronger deterrent. Some argue that death isn’t a deterrent. That there is just as much homicide even when a state has the death penalty. That may be so however, there’s a reason that the death penalty may not be as effective a deterrent as it might be. It isn’t public. Out of sight, out of mind. Mightn’t it give the women of our country a little more peace if they knew that a man who attempted to murder them would be facing a public death? Would there be less gangs if gang members who killed were hung in the public square? I say yes! I’m not a fascist. I’m not a killer. But I am a man who wishes we didn’t have to lose our children to sick fiends. There is a solution but, the liberal bleeding hearts of our country can’t bring themselves to allow what might actually do some good i.e. killing the killers for all to see.

You might ask, “what are we barbarians?” Is it barbaric to kill those who kill? Without getting the bible involved “an eye for an eye” type of argument, some argue that two wrongs can not make a right. I say killing the killers on TV will not make what happened right, but it might make a potential sicko think twice about doing what is, to most of us unthinkable. Moreover, if they do think twice and decide it’s too risky, perhaps we won’t have so much TV killings anyway. TV? Yes, right on TV for anyone eighteen years or older. And of course, anyone may come to the actual sight of the killing so that they can see justice being done. It worked in the past. It can work again. I say, screw the bleeding hearts that want to protect animals who kill. If the DNA matches, I say the public killing may commence. Why pay sixty thousand a year to house and feed someone who commits premeditated rape and murder? Save the money and prevent future crime. Voters won’t go for it you say? I say they will if it’s presented properly. The death penalty nation wide for premeditated rape and or murder based on DNA evidence will save tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars! It will lessen crime by deterring the criminals.

There are two methods of killing these criminals that would be highly effective. The first is by firing squad. That is a quick and painful way to go. The second is by hanging. I vote for hanging. Why not lethal injection? Because doctors are here to cure, not to kill. Why not the electric chair? Who in hell invented that thing to begin with? I mean seriously, that is too inhumane. With hanging death is instantaneous. The French cut off heads long ago. I find that too gruesome. The important element is that the punishment be public. After all, who ever heard of a private stoning?

We have more violent crime as the population grows. This only makes sense. But, how long will we stand by and pussy foot around and let people get out on parole and kidnap victims, rape women and kill for sport? It’s time to do something about this in order to protect innocent lives. No one deserves to live in fear but, many do live in fear because of how light sentences have been. No one is afraid of jail. It isn’t real to them. In states where they have the death penalty like Florida or Texas, criminals don’t see what might be in store for them. The penalty has to be public. This is the only way to create a true deterrent.

Why am I harping on a public death penalty? Because I’m furious that a young woman is raped, murdered and stuffed into a wall. I want to see the person who did this suffer and die. It’s the right thing.
